This is one of the gratitude entries that meant so much to me. Here it is:
I am grateful for the relationships I've had with those who are no longer with me. They each have a special place in my heart. The times we spent, the laughs, the tears, the food. I will never forget. Thank you to my grandmothers Alicia Rios and Romana Caceres. Thank you to my dad, Heriberto Caceres. Thank you to my uncle Tony Rios. Thank you to my beautiful cousin Lisa Cruz. Gone too soon.
I am grateful for extra special ladies in my life. My aunts, my mom's sisters, Jennie Rios (MA) and Marta De Jesus. They are the sweetest. They are so supportive and nurturing to me. I love them dearly.
I am grateful for my in laws, my extended family. They have been wonderful to me and every time we get together, it's laughter and fun. Thanks to Nicholas Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson, Antoinette Pinkney and Melvin Pinkney. Special shout out to my monther-in-law, Donna White. Love her forever.

Day 7 of Positives

Day 2 of Positives
Days of Positives
Day 1 of positives.
My professor, Carl Mazza from Lehman College challenged me and several others to post positive experiences each day for the next 7 days. I think it's a great idea.
1) Took a 2 1/2 hour nap (much needed).
2) Saw my in laws this morning (always enjoy family).
3) Finished some home projects.

Another Interesting Day!!!
Today was an interesting day. It was my first Directors meeting. I must say a part of me was excited. I sat in the room with all the program directors at my agency with the Senior and Deputy Director. I was not intimidated at all. I had met all of them before and some of them I worked with when I first worked for the agency. Anyway, it was time to give program updates. All around the room the other directors talked about clients and progress with program services. When it was my turn, I said "No clients yet but I have some interesting staff members." A little comic relief to ease my undeniable nervousness. Everyone laughed, including senior staff. I tried to hide my nervousness, which I think I did well. Honestly it was refreshing to finally be in the place where I've been working to get to. Dreams really do come true when you work hard. Praise GOD for his constant favor and blessings.

I Have Returned!!!
This is my first post in a long time. I used to post about my trials and struggles with weight loss. I am still working on getting to a point of good health and losing weight. It is not an easy journey but I continue to work at it. Now with a new job it is my hope that I am finally in a position to move closer to conquering my issues with food and start refocusing on my health. Most recently, I've been battling back and knee pain. I know it is because I am now at my largest weight. I have ignored my health and loss of weight control during 2013. I can admit that now but mostly during 2013 I could not have been more in denial. I am truly sad about it. Then I started to work on rediscovering my relationship with GOD and Jesus. Yes, I returned to church. I must say, I am enjoying this new found connection with my spirituality. I thought I was very spiritual before but I have come to realize that I was just scratching the surface. I am even exploring and studying the bible. I am not preaching nor am I being preachy. I can say this has worked for me. Now that I am caught up, it's time to return to my regular commentary and opinionated self.
